On Tuesday November 13, we announced the official launch of Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) as a flagship market for WiredScore certification. Our expansion and decision to invest in the Metroplex came as a result of increasing demand from local owners and early adopters, and follows our recent expansions in Atlanta, Chicago and Toronto.

With Mayor Mike Rawlings’ endorsement, Dallas buildings that offer best-in-class connectivity infrastructure can now be identified by WiredScore certification – making Dallas the first flagship city for WiredScore certification in the Southwest.

The Mayor’s recognition of the importance of digital connectivity infrastructure reaffirms Dallas’ commitment to building a future-proofed community that fosters innovation and supports the evolving needs of world-class businesses.

“Dallas is already a top location for corporate headquarters, but we believe WiredScore will further position us as a global city of growth and innovation”, said Mayor Rawlings. “By advancing greater transparency in digital infrastructure in commercial properties, WiredScore’s mission will strengthen Dallas’ ability to attract and retain businesses.”

Over the last decade, DFW has been consistently recognized as one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the nation. Particularly in the last several years, DFW has experienced a wave of corporate relocations and expansions from a variety of industries, which has brought an assortment of valuable economic opportunities. In addition to being home to nearly 25 Fortune 500 companies and short-listed for Amazon’s HQ2, the DFW Metroplex is Texas’ technology hub. It boasts the largest high-tech workforce of any metro area in the state and is ranked fifth largest in tech labor force in North America.

“DFW has experienced significant population and business growth in recent years and is a hotbed for global business innovation,” said Arie Barendrecht, founder and CEO of WiredScore. “Dallas has also cemented its reputation as one of the nation’s thriving entrepreneurial ecosystems, as evidenced by the strategic steps it and neighboring cities have taken to support progressive technologies, such as autonomous vehicles, Uber Elevate and AT&T’s 5G Evolution. Such ambitious efforts, coupled with the community’s dynamic thought leaders in the business world, make Dallas a logical fit for WiredScore certification.”

WiredScore has 15 commercial partners to date, who have committed to WiredScore certification for their DFW office assets including: Apollo Global Management, Bright Realty, Buchanan Street Partners, Encore Enterprises, Gaedeke Group, Hartman Income REIT, Hillwood Urban, KBS, New York Life, Rosewood Property Company, Stream Realty Partners, Transwestern Development Company, UBS, Vanderbilt Office Properties, and VanTrust Real Estate. These early adopters of the WiredScore certification program are pursuing certification for office assets in Dallas, Arlington, Irving, Lewisville, Frisco, Plano and Richardson.
