We’re a B Corp!

WiredScore, the company setting the global standard for technology in the built world, has announced it has achieved B Corp certification.

As a globally recognized designation, B Corp measures the high standards of verified performance, accountability and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials. The rigorous and lengthy assessment process covers five key areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers.

Being able to measure against a global benchmark and to denote areas for improvement is a fundamental part of the certification process and allows for a positive feedback loop.

Areas where WiredScore scored highly included the “Workers Impact” category, which measures factors including health, wellness and safety as well as attention to career development. The company’s annual “Hamilton Plan” which enables employees to spend up to $1,000 on professional development is an example of an innovative solution to bettering skills sets within the business, as well as tapping into the company’s core value of innovation. WiredScore also commits an annual wellness budget of $500 to each employee, encouraging each person to spend the amount on activities that boost their mental and physical wellbeing.

WiredScore was also praised for its commitment to working with like minded companies who share similar values from a sustainability perspective, ensuring the business is constantly striving to ask more of itself as well as its employees. The company is committed to buying carbon offsets for global travel via TravelPerk, helping to ensure that essential trips for work have the lowest environmental impact possible

The B Corp certification process is run by B Labs, which was established in the Philadelphia suburb of Berwyn in 2006. The founding ideals were that business could lead the way towards a stakeholder-driven economic model.
