Keppel REIT, Shaw Towers Realty and PAG first landlords and developers in Singapore to embark on certification recognition.
07 June, 2022, Singapore: WiredScore, the global company behind the internationally recognized digital connectivity rating platform for real estate, today announced that Keppel REIT, Shaw Towers Realty and PAG are the first three building owners and developers to commit to the WiredScore and SmartScore certifications in Singapore. This follows WiredScore’s recent launch of its Asia headquarters in Singapore in March 2022, as part of the firm’s global expansion.
Keppel Bay Tower, a 386,000 square-foot office building managed by Keppel REIT at Harbourfront, Shaw Tower, a 33 storey commercial building under redevelopment on Beach Road along the rejuvenated Ophir-Rochor corridor, with over 435,000 square feet of grade-A office space, that is managed by Lendlease for Shaw Towers Realty Pte Ltd, and PAG’s StarHub Green building at Singapore’s key commercial Paya Lebar hub, which spans 400,000 square feet, are all currently undergoing certification.
Thomasin Crowley, Global Director of APAC at WiredScore, said: “Being the first three building owners and developers to commit to our certifications in Singapore, Keppel REIT, Shaw Towers Realty and PAG recognize the importance of best-in-class digital connectivity and technology-enabled user experiences. It is paramount that landlords and developers recognize this to create offices that naturally attract and inspire employees, going beyond the provision of simply providing desks and meeting rooms.
“Smart and well connected buildings will play an integral role in the future of real estate, and we are excited to work closely with landlords and developers in Singapore to help achieve this.”
WiredScore certification is the global digital connectivity rating scheme, working with landlords and developers to assess, improve, benchmark and promote their buildings. SmartScore certification defines what smart buildings are, and how to build them, allowing landlords in the world to understand, improve and communicate the user functionality and technological foundations of their assets.
Shirley Ng, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Head of Investment of Keppel REIT Management Limited, the manager of Keppel REIT, commented: “Keppel REIT is pleased to be one of the first building owners to commit to the WiredScore and SmartScore certifications in Singapore. Keppel Bay Tower, as Singapore’s first Green Mark Platinum Zero Energy commercial building, showcases myriad energy-efficient technologies and smart capabilities that enhance tenants’ experience. We are committed to leveraging technology and the best-in-class infrastructure to build a high quality and sustainable portfolio that is resilient and future ready.”
Raymond Chan, Managing Director for Shaw Group of Companies headquartered in Hong Kong, commented: “The redevelopment of Shaw Tower is one for which we envisioned the highest quality indoor environment, with inspirational spaces to work and collaborate in. Central to this is placing our digital infrastructure top of the agenda, to ensure a first-class user experience for our tenants. WiredScore allows us to do this in a way which is universally recognizable ensuring that we are future proofing our asset for years to come.”
Winston Chin, Managing Director, PAG Real Assets, said: “We are committed to making StarHub Green one of the most environmentally friendly and digitally advanced buildings in the Paya Lebar area. We are therefore pleased to partner with WiredScore to develop the digital connectivity and infrastructure for StarHub Green and are looking forward to further investing in the resilience of the building.”
