What does Wired Certification measure?
We measure the aspects of a building that most significantly impact a tenant’s ability to run their business. Wired Certification rates a range of digital connectivity features that ultimately ensure tenants can get set up with the services they need and rely on the digital connectivity of their office building.
Can tenants easily get internet up and running?
We evaluate access to existing ISP equipment in the building as well as the potential for a tenant to bring in their own telecom solutions without cost or hassle. We also check that the right documentation is in place with providers so that tenants can avoid lengthy negotiations and delayed internet set-up.
Can tenants access the connectivity services they need at a competitive price?
We look at the number and type of internet service providers present in the building, while carefully identifying which services are truly available for widespread tenant use. This gives tenants indication of their ability to receive the service and competitive pricing that fits their business needs.
Can tenants rely on the building’s digital connectivity?
A building's physical infrastructure can impact how resilient and redundant connections can be. For example, if a building has multiple points of entry where provider cabling enters the building from the street, then connection is less likely to be lost in the event of accidental damage by construction. Our engineers evaluate how a building’s infrastructure impacts its telecom capabilities.
