Freya Yang (Head of Commercial Engineering) and Axel du Mesnil (Group Product Manager) outlined the trends shaping real estate in 2025, and some of the exclusive data in our newly launched report, ‘WiredScore’s Insights 2025’.

They looked specifically at:

1. The evolution of digital connectivity in the workplace, and how flexible working is driving the need for seamless connectivity, with robust internet service provision being more essential than ever.

2. The importance of data management in building operations, in optimizing building performance and sustainability, with an emphasis on collaboration between landlords and occupiers.

3. Technology’s role in enhancing wellbeing and community, with some key recommendations for 2025. These included  integrating wellness technologies, improving accessibility with smart navigation, and adopting advanced safety measures to create thriving, resilient communities.

WiredScore’s regional directors, as well as our CEO, WiIliam Newton came together to discuss global trends and best practices in a roundtable discussion.

Led by Tom Vaughan-Fowler, Regional Director for UK and Middle East, the roundtable discussed the evolving priorities of landlords across all of our markets, digging deeper into global challenges, such as rising construction costs, and consequent caution from investors, as well as companies reassessing their office space needs and the rise of downsizing.

They also explored the evolving requirements developers are expected to meet, including a shift towards prioritizing occupier preferences and wellbeing, and the link between a developer’s brand and occupier experience, with some excellent examples from our clients, including One Bangkok in Thailand. This prestigious building, owned by Fraser Properties, has invested heavily in technology to improve occupier experience. Their efforts, including a district cooling water system, have resulted in a 22% reduction in energy consumption, reducing their C02 emissions by 9,000 tons per year.

Merle Aldegarmann, Director of Central and Eastern Europe, stated, “One topic that unites all stakeholders, developers, investors and occupiers is the pressing need for a strong and compelling ESG narrative.” A noteworthy example of a client excelling at this, is Majid Al Futtaim’s Ghaf Woods in Dubai, which uses IoT devices to collect real-time data, and catalog and monitor native wildlife and forestry, ensuring positive environmental impact.

It was a truly insightful discussion which benefitted from a global perspective.
