06 November 2024, Manila: WiredScore, the global company behind the internationally-recognized digital connectivity rating platform for real estate, announces its official launch in the Philippines, further expanding its presence across Southeast Asia following successful regional entries since 2022.
As part of this launch, the company has named Araneta City (ACI Inc.), Arthaland Corporation, Daiichi Properties, Menarco Development Corporation and NEO as the first property owners and developers in the Philippines to pursue WiredScore certification for their buildings.
The Philippines is now the seventh Asia Pacific market in which WiredScore operates, with buildings undergoing certification in Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, and most recently, India.
“Fueled by rapid urbanization, a talented workforce, and a cost-effective business environment, the real estate market in the Philippines remains a highly attractive environment for global companies who are demanding premium commercial spaces,” said Thomasin Crowley, VP, Asia Pacific at WiredScore. “As this dynamic market continues to evolve, WiredScore is excited to support property owners and developers by offering a globally recognized benchmark for digital connectivity and infrastructure. Our goal is to empower these stakeholders to attract forward-thinking occupiers by providing spaces that meet the highest standards of connectivity and resilience, ensuring that the Philippines’ real estate sector is well-positioned to meet the demands of a competitive regional landscape.”
At the official launch event, WiredScore announced the first buildings to achieve certification in the Philippines. Notably, NEO and Daiichi Properties were announced as the first in the Philippines to commit to the WiredScore Portfolio awards, which promote exceptional commitment by leading landlords and developers to delivering a best-in-class technology-enabled experience across their real estate portfolio. NEO has committed all seven of its commercial towers in Bonifacio Global City to WiredScore certification. Daiichi Properties has also committed six of its existing buildings to WiredScore certification, including One Global Place, World Plaza, One World Place, The Finance Centre, Orient Square, and Taipan Place.
The first in the country to achieve certification, Menarco Development Corporation’s Menarco Tower earned the highest rating of Wiredscore Platinum. In addition, NEO’s Five/NEO, Six/NEO and Seven/NEO also achieved WiredScore Platinum, while Arthaland Corporation’s Savya Financial Center achieved WiredScore Gold. Araneta City (ACI Inc.) is also pursuing WiredScore certification for Gateway Tower and Cyberpark 3, positioning them as the first office buildings in the Quezon City area to undergo certification.
WiredScore offers two certifications: WiredScore and SmartScore. WiredScore certification is the global digital connectivity rating scheme, working with landlords to assess, improve, benchmark and promote their buildings. SmartScore certification defines what smart buildings are, and how to build them, allowing landlords in the world to understand, improve and communicate the user functionality and technological foundations of their assets.
“Work From Home continues to drive innovation to enhance our workplace environment that will make employees and tenants continue to locate in office buildings. The challenge to us as developers is to push not just sustainable places to work but also the infrastructure to work better faster and smarter than we can anywhere else. These two key facets have always been a part of what NEO stands for – Innovation and Sustainability going hand in hand to push boundaries and achieve greater success for our tenants.” said Carlo Rufino, Co-Managing Director, NEO.
Commenting on their achievement, Carmen Jimenez-Ong, Founder & CEO at Menarco Development Corporation, said, “Studies show that robust and seamless digital connectivity can boost productivity by as much as 30%. As a champion for wellness and excellence, Menarco continues to pioneer and innovate by being the first WiredScore Platinum certified building in the Philippines.”
Charmaine Uy, President & COO at Daiichi Properties, said, “At Daiichi Properties, we’re dedicated to creating functional, sustainable, and technologically advanced spaces. As technology continues to evolve, it’s essential that our buildings remain at the forefront of digital infrastructure. By partnering with WiredScore, we’re able to validate the strength of our existing digital infrastructure and ensure that our buildings consistently meet the highest standards of connectivity.”
“We are excited to be among the first WiredScore partners in the Philippines. True to our reputation as the City of Firsts, we are committed to pioneering world-class services and standards, ensuring we provide the best for our ever-growing community,” said Rowell Recinto, Senior Management Consultant of Araneta City (ACI Inc.).
Oliver Chan, SVP and CSO at Arthaland Corporation, added, “At Arthaland, our commitment to sustainable developments aligns with WiredScore’s focus on digital connectivity. Achieving WiredScore Gold certification for Savya Financial Center amplifies Arthaland’s vision to deliver world-class, green real estate solutions for today’s modern workplace.”
