When does a ‘development’ change into an ‘occupied’ building? Does the building then need to move onto the ‘occupied’ scorecard?

A building that is not yet built will be certified as a ‘development’. Likewise, buildings going through a full redevelopment will be certified as a ‘development’. Once a building has achieved practical completion, it will be certified as an ‘occupied’ building.

For developments: Will an onsite assessment be conducted after my building has reached practical completion, to confirm that the technology is in place?

We conduct a site survey to document and score the building’s digital connectivity and/or smart technology features at the beginning of the certification process. We must receive documentation and photographic evidence of all improvements that take place within the building to award additional credits. Additional evidence can be submitted 6 and 12 months after achieving certification.
