“WiredScore connects us to a global network of forward-thinking landlords, tenants and research advisers.
What led you to join WiredScore’s Accredited Professional Program?
WiredScore is the only global certification body that provides a widely recognized approach for evaluating the quality of in-building technology and connectivity features. Becoming a WiredScore AP allows me to deliver additional services to existing and new clients in addition to the ICT and Smart Buildings Consulting work that we already do. Aside from that, WiredScore connects us to a global network of forward-thinking landlords, tenants, and research advisers in their Smart Council. This provides us with a community to exchange ideas and insights, and helps us to bridge knowledge gaps to advance our industry.
What key learnings have you taken away as part of your WiredScore and SmartScore AP Training?
Identifying and selecting the right solutions for our clients is complex, especially because the topics are so wide reaching. As a result, having a well-structured process to apply is valuable. The WiredScore and SmartScore certifications allow us to clearly categorize and review topics in a methodical and unbiased manner.
“We have witnessed a surge in demand from building owners, property managers and tenants for building designs that integrate best-in-class connectivity and technology.
How does your WiredScore and SmartScore AP Training help you help your clients overcome the challenges facing real estate today?
It can often be challenging to explain the value of technology to stakeholders; having a consistent scoring system allows landlords to communicate the strength and performance of their buildings without getting bogged down into the technical details in their conversations. The WiredScore and SmartScore certifications provide an independent evaluation process with standardized weighting to help real estate owners assess technology options and market their buildings to find quality tenants with long term leases.
What innovations most excite you about the future of technology in real estate?
When it comes to adopting new technology, real estate has a reputation for being conservative and slow. However, in recent years, we have witnessed a surge in demand from building owners, property managers, and tenants for building designs that integrate best-in-class connectivity and technology. As user demands and behavior evolve, I am excited about the opportunity of data engineering, particularly the application of machine learning techniques to uncover potential for the creation of new applications and capabilities to better meet user demand through data insights and process automation.
